Responsibilities range from program director and small group leaders to people who prepare snacks and drive for special events. Volunteers secondary school age or older help to plan and run our various youth ministry programs. There are limited volunteer roles for older elementary school students.

In 2004, over a six month period, Matthew Martinez and Meiling Lee Wohing represented St. Finbar’s RC Church at a course for Youth Leadership. They subsequently received their certificates in Youth Leadership from the Archdiocesan Youth Secretariat. Although an active Youth Group program has not yet been established, Matthew and Meiling are consistently working towards securing the interest and commitment of St. Finbar’s Youth in various capacities. Examples of this can be seen in the annual Stations of the Cross walk through Westmoorings and in the First Communion Program which is fortunate enough to have a group of enthusiastic junior Catechists.

C.O.R. is a weekend retreat program for young people ages 17 to 21. It is an encounter with Christ through, with and in others - a celebration! C.O.R. is a place to meet new friends and share common joys and struggles.
