| STEWARDSHIP |
Co-ordinators: Michael & Linda Stephen At St. Finbar’s we contemplate the essence of giving back to God through our Parish Community in the form of Time, Talent and Treasure. Everyone of us can experience the personal fulfillment of committing to being good stewards of all that has been left in our charge by our Master and Our Lord. We need only to open our hearts and let flow the riches with which we have been blessed, by finding a way to offer ourselves to our parish community, in thanksgiving to God. Stewardship is a profound expression of faith. We must trust in God that if we embrace His grace of giving, our gifts will return to us both materially and spiritually many times over. Society encourages us to be self-centered. Stewardship involves our conversion from "owner" to "steward". |

| WHY SHOULD I GIVE? |
Through Baptism we become one collective Body with Christ. God has bestowed upon each of us different skills and talents. His expectation is that we use those gifts to give selflessly to the same Body of Christ to which we belong – our sisters and brothers in need. Jesus assures us that selfless giving will be rewarded in Heaven. "In truth I tell you, in so far as you did to the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me." (Matthew 25:40) |
| I HAVE MANY COMMITMENTS. HOW CAN I GIVE? |
Our commitments do not relieve us of our responsibility to give to the Lord. We refrain from giving because we feel financially insecure. However, God promises that giving to Him is the most secure financial move we can make. "Since He did not spare His own Son, for the sake of all of us, then we can expect that He will freely give us all His gifts." (Romans 8:32) |
