| MUSIC MINISTRIES |
The Parish's Music Ministries provide music and song to enhance liturgical celebrations and to assist all parishioners to pray musically. Music is the "voice of the soul" and helps us to express the depth of our thanks to the Lord, the earnestness of our cry for pardon, the strength of our faith, the boldness of our hope, and the vigour of our love for God. Music ministry is an opportunity for you to share your gifts of music with the parish community. It is through this sharing, that we learn to pray with our heart. Music draws a response from the soul. All of our choirs are delighted to welcome new singers and instrumentalists. The music ministry at St. Finbar’s has four unique dynamic choirs for our liturgical celebrations. If you are moved by music and feel you have something to give to this ministry, please contact the Music Ministry Directors either directly after mass, using the phone numbers listed in the Parish Directory Guide, or through the Parish office. |

| FUNERAL CHOIR (THE HEAVENLY CHOIR) |
Director: Zoila Augustus Rosemarie D’Abadie and Donna Ghent formed this choir in 1988 to sing at funerals. Donna Ghent accompanied the choir with her guitar but as her family grew, the choir started using taped music. This continued for quite a few years and at present Dave Protain accompanies the choir on the organ. Initially the parishioners jokingly knew the group as “the Corbeaux Choir”, but Fr. Tom christened the choir “The Heavenly Choir” and it has been known by this name to this day. This choir (18 singers) helps us celebrate the funeral liturgy for our brothers and sisters. They provide a source of comfort and support to families who are walking through a difficult time in their lives. We are always in need of voices. |
