Some residents of Goodwood Gardens decided to take a more active role in the parish and educate themselves in the faith. Currently only 7 of the 86 homes listed in the area participate in the group’s activities. But more are always welcome.

Every meeting begins with a prayer followed by a topic of discussion based on the Gospel reading for the week. The Sunday sermon is also discussed at these meetings, so there’s a lot of food for thought and action by the end of it all. In addition to spiritual matters, the community affairs such as security, robberies and new residents are all part of the agenda.

Parish/Community Activities:

• Assist the priest (sing as a choir, read and distribute communion) at 9:30 a.m. Mass at the Finbar Ryan Geriatric Home Chapel every third Sunday. The group also distributes biscuits to the residents of the home.
• Pray fifteen decades of the Holy Rosary every other Thursday from 7:30 p.m. at Ken and Heather Pinheiro’s residence.
• Pray five decades of the Holy Rosary every Friday from 7:30 p.m. in the Park or at Sandie and Trevor Aleong’s residence during inclement weather.
• Celebrate Christmas with a dinner for members.
• Throw a Christmas party for residents of the Finbar Ryan Geriatric Home.

This group raises funds every month for SERVOL.

This group says the Rosary with people in their Community.
